Music and Us: Our New Playlist

 Being from England, I feel like we have a lot of culture when it comes to music and also being so close to many countries in Europe I feel like I know quite a bit about other cultures and their music too. I think a big part of that is because of playing soccer and meeting people from all around the world too. The 4 countries am going to talk about is obviously England, then I will talk about Turkey, Spain and lastly Ireland. I understand that these are all in Europe but I feel like these cultures have so much history with music and its something that hopefully people enjoy learning about The traditional song I chose for England is " The water is Wide" even though this song was created in 1906 and am sure there are older songs out there, this one personally kind of shows how the music in England has been for years and the meanings behind it. You never walk alone ritual

  The ritual that I am going to be talking about is when Liverpool football club fans sing “ You never walk alone” before the start of every football match. My whole family are from Liverpool so they use to go too all the games when they were younger. But when my mum and dad moved to Manchester and I was born. It was harder for me to as it wasn’t on our doorstep like it was for them. So when I was growing up my Dad of course made me supporting Liverpool and I really didn’t want to at the time when I was young because all my friends either supported Manchester United or City and little me just wanted to support who ever my friends did. So when I would ask my dad can I support someone else he would laugh and be like no chance. I remember when he said to me when we go watch a game, ill realize why supporting Liverpool was the best choice.
